T.A. and I are happily enslaved by our 7 cats. 5 of them are a family; Miss Crazy Momma Cloud (Missy) and the survivors of her last two litters: Butch, Harry, Kira, and of course, the incomparable Tashanita! We had been feeding Miss Mommy and trying to catch her up between litters to get her spayed for about a year or so. A week before Thanksgiving, in 2005, she walked up into the sunroom with 3 tiny kittens in tow: Butch, Harry and Kira. My heart turned over and we were in love. Miss Mommy ran away again a week later after she got the kittens settled, and it was another 8 months of wait and feed before she showed up again, this time with only Tasha. We let Mommy loose, hoping she would bring back the rest of that litter, but apparently Tasha was the only survivor. Mommy came back a couple of days later, got spayed a week later, and moved in with the rest of the family. Tasha endeared herself to us totally by being 6 weeks old and completely fearless — springing through the air and wrapping her entire tiny body around the head of one of her half-brothers was her favorite pasttime. The boys were so good with her, paying fiercely but gently with their tiny kitten sister. Kira was mostly terrified of her!
Our other cats include Nemo (named after the Harold McCay cartoon strip, “Little Nemo In Slumberland”) who was our only boy for ages and ages — now he isn’t and is deeply resentful — and Tim the Timid, who we fed for nearly a year before getting him in off the streets. We finally had to take Tim to the groomer the following spring, as he was a matted mess of long hair, and looked much like a Yeti. Now he’s a handsome boy, and brother, does he know it….
Here’s pictures of a few of them; more to come!

Might I say, the kitty with the bi-colored eyes… Quite awesome. Quite, quite awesome.
I love the kitty story! My Kitty is a pure white version of Kira, complete with blue and yellow eyes.
My vet is no help in identifying her breed. What’s yours? Turkish Angora or Maine Coon?
