I like Knitting, textiles of all sorts, hard science fiction, well-written mysteries, experimenting in the kitchen/chem lab, and Victorian/steampunk fashion. There’s no bookstore safe from my exploration, there’s no yarn store safe from my depredation, and there’s no sacred cow safe from my condemnation. Oh, yeah, and I really like alliteration.
Married to The Auteur for what is an amazing amount of time for both of us; rescuer and slave of multiple cats, and living with a really obscene stash of yarn and fabric.

Dear Cynthia…
I recently went to the TKGA show in Manchester NH and ‘fell in love’ with a grey shawl that I was told that you had made… It is beautiful… and, I would like to buy the pattern from you if you are going to be selling it.
There were many different items on display at the show, but your shawl just ‘spoke’ to me… I make and wear shawls and use black as a basic color, so the grey was just elegant and I love the edging with the crystal beads giving weight and beauty at the same time…thankyou for this great shawl design…as I have never written to a designer before, I hope that you will respond ….thankyou for your time…
Carole
Dear Cynthia…. I have been wondering if your pattern for the chain maille shawl will be available this Fall… I am really looking forward to making it as it is so lovely and just perfect for special occasions….
I have been able to get 10 skeins of the yarn needed and I think I have seen the ‘proper’ crystal beads…
Right now it has been such a hot summer here in NH that it is hard to even think of wearing shawls, but, soon things will change and we will all be busy with our needles again…
Best regards, Carole Brown
